My First Piece
My very first published piece was an Op-Ed article that appeared in The New York Times. I wrote about what it was like to be out of a job. The day the article was published, the head of a small Manhattan advertising agency read my piece and offered me a job as a junior copywriter – right on the spot. As exciting as that was, I was even more excited because the piece gave me an excuse to have lunch with the girl who’s mentioned at the end of the article.
